This presentation provides eye care practitioners with an evidence-based review of the science behind lens care solutions, an update on the ingredients in care products and the design and developed of solutions to support an optimal contact lens wearing experience. Special emphasis is placed on the role of today's care systems, including disinfection, cleaning and conditioning and the science behind the ingredients. FDA and ISO standards will be reviewed.

Joe Barr is an emeritus professor of Optometry and Vision Science at Ohio State University where he was also Associate Dean for Clinical Services and Professional Program. Srini Venkatesh is Senior Director, Product Development and Project Management for Solutions at Bausch & Lomb. This lecture was recorded live at the BCLA conference in Manchester in 2009.
